The Future Lawyer

Preparing the Future Lawyer for an AI-Accelerated, Global Profession

Presented to students in the Master’s Program in Innovation in Digital Law and Legal Tech at Universidad Sergio Arboleda, this international guest lecture explored how technology, data, and new operating models are transforming legal practice. Mori Kabiri traced more than 30 years of industry change and examined how artificial intelligence, evolving client expectations, regulation, and global competition are reshaping the work of lawyers.

The session introduced Legal Operations as a discipline that connects people, processes, technology, data, vendors, and service delivery to make legal work more efficient, strategic, and measurable. Students also explored emerging career paths in law firms, corporate legal departments, legal technology, managed services, compliance, policy, and legal innovation. Practical examples demonstrated how workflows, business intelligence, and KPIs can support better decisions, manage risk, and communicate legal value.
